How do you convince parents and students that play-based education, a novel idea in schooling, could be both successful and fun? Build a brand rooted in achievement but explained in the language of games.




The idea behind teaching at The Studio School, “Play-Based Education”, sounded like a fad that shouldn’t be taken seriously. So we chose a brand tagline that highlighted the quality of the education, while maintaining the playfulness that was key to their approach.

Knowing that it would be educators in charge of maintaining the identity, we skipped a formal, designer-focused brand book in favor of simple slides that reframed “rules” as a chance to play, and put into practice what the school was all about.
